This page explains the sampling process, revisions and approval. When you are ready to choose fragrance directions or packaging references, build a private label perfume sample-kit request. Use the sample evaluation checklist when comparing the agreed samples.
Three ways to start sampling
We prepare a sample route around the decision your brand needs to make: select an existing direction, interpret a reference, or develop a new concept. Tell us the product and target experience first so the samples can answer that decision in the intended application.
| Route | Your input | What to evaluate |
|---|---|---|
| Existing scent selection | Product, audience and preferred scent directions | Which selected direction fits the brand and application |
| Reference matching | Reference and qualities to retain or change | How the sample meets the agreed comparison target |
| Bespoke development | Brand, emotional direction and product brief | Whether the new direction expresses the intended concept |
We shortlist from 2,000+ fragrance resources and develop the selection in the product format you need. A perfume, body mist, oil and cream are compared in their own bases, with a sample reference and feedback for each application.
What to include in the request
Send the product category, intended base or carrier, target market, scent direction or reference, quantity direction and packaging idea. Identify the question the sample should resolve: scent balance, carrier feel, spray experience or another clearly described priority.
For a reference, describe the sample and its condition before arranging a physical shipment. Sending details and handling arrangements are confirmed through the project discussion. Use the fragrance brief template when several people need to agree what is being requested.
Confirm sample scope, fees and timing
Before proceeding, agree the number and type of directions, sample application and format, development work, revision scope, fees and delivery arrangements. Confirm which items are included, who pays for sending and any follow-up work needed after the first evaluation.
An available existing direction can start with selection and sample preparation; a new formula adds lab development and feedback rounds. Bottle or decoration prototypes, any additional tests and international sample transit are separate steps. Our sample offer lists the contents, preparation work, revision scope, charges, sending arrangements and expected timing for that route before you proceed.
Review your sample proposal
For existing selection, we propose a focused shortlist and application samples. For reference matching, the proposal identifies the comparison target and development samples. For bespoke work, it connects your brief with the sample directions and revisions to evaluate. Review the following details with us before sample preparation.
| Proposal item | What to record |
|---|---|
| Product and reference | Intended application, carrier or base, scent direction, sample identifiers and versions |
| Physical contents | Sample format, amount per sample, number of directions and any bottle, decoration or box references; identify physical items separately from visual references or sourcing work |
| Development and feedback | Selection or development work, revision scope, feedback needed and work charged separately |
| Itemised charges | Sample work, components, revisions, additional tests if required, packing and shipping; identify any destination charges |
| Preparation and delivery | Preparation steps and expected timing, any testing or feedback stage, dispatch arrangements and transit; identify when each stage begins and who pays for carriage |
| Next decision | What you will compare, how to identify the preferred version and what still needs approval before production |
Use this blank proposal checklist for your discussion; complete it with the actual contents, amounts, prices and schedule offered for your project.

Your next review or approval:
Record feedback and approve a version
Keep the sample identifier, version and evaluation conditions in your feedback. Separate the opening impression, development and finish where relevant. Describe the requested change in relation to the brief: “retain the fresh opening, reduce the powdery middle, make the finish drier” is more useful than “make it better”.
Consolidate feedback from your reviewers before requesting a revision. Record which version is preferred, any remaining changes, and the version eventually approved for the intended product. The evaluation guide and copyable record supports this process.
We keep your project and formulation information confidential. Use the sample reference in your feedback so our team can connect your comments with the correct version. The approved version then carries into the formula, packaging and quality discussion for the production order.
Move from sample to production
A scent approval establishes a reference; it does not automatically approve the bottle, dispenser, artwork, documents or production quantity. Confirm the final product specification, component responsibilities and required checks before the production arrangement is settled.
Perfume usually starts at 30 kg of liquid per scent, with packaging requirements assessed separately. Other categories have their own quantity discussion. Review packaging and minimums, then request samples with the route and decision you want to explore.
Request fragrance and packaging samples together
Use the sample-kit builder to choose fragrance directions, bottle and decoration references, or both. This helps compare the scent and the physical brand experience in one brief. Requested sample counts and pack styles are discussion inputs; contents, availability, charges, revisions and shipment are confirmed in the sample offer.
